Default Marriage

Satan has been very successful in attacking families all over the world by causing restlessness and a longing for better circumstances of one kind or another in marriage relationships.

Marriages are crumbling all around us for no good reason other than one individual thinking "life may be better on the other side of the fence"

God intended marriage to be for a lifetime...please pray for marriages to be healed and restored.

Pray especially this week and the weeks ahead that the movie Fireproof, scheduled to be released on September 26, will touch the right people at the right time in the right way.

Pray for couples all over the world, married, separated or divorced to resolve their issues through Christ and restore the relationship they committed to.

Pray that Fireproof will allow everyone to re-evaluate their relationship with Christ first and foremost and secondly that each couple realizes the importance of their marriage commitment and that it is worth the effort for restoration regardless of legal status.
Pray God's will be done.

My wife and I saw this movie shortly after its release, and it had a profound effect on us. I had heard some great word of mouth from a coworker, who told me that I would cry at a 'certain point' in the movie. I kept waiting for it to come, and I figured that the moment had passed...but then it happened.

The moment Kirk was on his knees, by his 'wife' and just poured his heart out...WOW. It was so real, so raw and I saw a lot of myself in his character. Then *BAM* there I was crying like a baby in the theater. I highly recommend it to anyone who's on the fence about it.

Just in case you can't find the movie in a theater, the DVD is being released on January 27, and is currently available for pre-order at Family Christian Stores is worth buying.

The movie was absolutely fantastic! I really enjoyed it. It had a profound effect on me when the perspective about how his parallel with Jesus in terms of being disrespected in a relationship despite how hard you are trying.

I recently found out to that the lieutenant who helped guide the Kirk Cameron character is a Marine!

What did you think about the scene where he was yelling at his wife?

What I really liked was the emphasis on unconditional love. I have always believed that in a marriage but I can say I realized a great example of unconditional love from one of my cats. It was as God was really showing me what unconditional love really is...and through one of His own creations

I have three, cats, don't get me wrong I love them all, but one of them, Serena, has always been a bit more needy and clingy than the others. One night in bed, she was wanting attention, and although through the years I have never not given her attention I always felt bad that she took so much time away from the other two cats. Well for some reason this evening I felt an overwhelming touch from my Lord, expressing to me, that Serena is the perfect example of what unconditional love is all about.

She continued to love me just as much even though sometimes I pushed her away to give one of the other cats some love...Serena still returned with just as much love for me.

In my mind, it was a perfect example of how we are to treat our spouse, if they push us away, we are to love them unconditionally, just as God loves us unconditionally when we push him away.

As focused in the movie, unconditional love isn't easy, but it is what God intends us to give our spouse.

Bare with me on this one...

One of the things I've learned from my cat is the realization that I accept and love my cat for who she is. Oddly with humans, we have a tendency to put a lot of conditions on rather you will love someone or not or clinging onto the day that they will 'change' to perhaps resume loving them again. Even when the cat doesn't do something I necessarily like, I don't get angry or upset I just help guide her not to poop outside of the liter box and to stop tearing up my carpets. Just putting your love and patience into perspective in that regards means that you are capable of doing that with humans as well.

Well said Russ, sad the enemy closes our eyes to that when it comes to humans.
